Motorcycle accident near Rottenbuch: 67-year-old seriously injured!
On July 5th there was a serious traffic accident on the B 23 near Rottenbuch, which affected a 67-year-old motorcyclist from Dillingen. The biker overtook a convoy of vehicles and overlooked an oncoming vehicle, which led to a dramatic collision. He was seriously injured after colliding with a crash barrier, a guide post and a traffic sign. A rescue helicopter took him to the hospital. The material damage is estimated at around 3,000 euros. The police are urgently looking for a witness, a driver of a white car, to clarify the exact nature of the accident. Information is available from the Schongau police station on 08861/2346-0. Unfortunately, this type of accident is not all that unusual, as hundreds of motorcyclists die in traffic accidents in Germany every year, as Biketrails Pfannenstiel reports.
On the same day, another traffic accident occurred in Polling, which affected two cyclists. While one of the drivers fell and was slightly injured, the other was uninjured. The material damage was minor and fortunately the situation remained benign, but this incident is another example of the dangers that motorcyclists are exposed to. A look at the latest statistics shows that human error is often the main reason for serious accidents. This highlights the need for more preventative measures and driving safety training.
Vandalism and damage to property in Weilheim
July 7th brought several reports of property damage in Weilheim. The day before, 14 reports of damaged vehicles were filed. Outside mirrors and license plates on various streets, including Herrnfeldstrasse and Münchener Strasse, were vandalized on the night of July 6th. The property damage amounts to a high four-digit amount. The Weilheim police are asking for information from the public on 0881/6400.
Another incident occurred at a pool party in Schongau, where a male party guest damaged toilet doors, resulting in property damage of around 500 euros. Such acts of vandalism not only cause financial losses, but also damage the sense of community in our region.
Fire brigade operations and traffic controls
Around midday on July 6th, a hedge in Peiting caught fire while residents were doing weeding work. Fortunately, the resident was able to put out the fire himself before the fire department had to arrive. The property damage was minor and there was no danger to the neighbors. However, such operations show the importance of the fire departments in our community, who are always ready to be there.
Another important issue is road safety. On July 4th, a 25-year-old man was driving an electric scooter in Peiting without a driver's license. This led to an investigation into driving without permission. Such controls are essential to ensure safety on our roads.
Overall, it is important to focus even more on road safety. The figures for motorcycle accidents and the numerous damage caused by vandalism show that there is still room for improvement. In order to improve the situation, both education and preventive measures are required - as the saying goes? Together we are strong!
