False parkers ensure chaos in Starnberg - city takes action!

In Starnberg it is bubbling: false parkers put the nerves of residents and the city council to a hard rehearsal. Especially in the Ludwigshöhe and along Possenhofener Straße, complaints about road users are piling up, which do not adhere to the parking regulations. "Some drivers literally calculate the 50 euro criminal tickets," said Mayor Patrick Janik, who unympathetes the serious problems in the city's traffic events. The fewest seem to deter the punishments.

Last week the traffic in Starnberg was more than tense. In view of the rainy weather, there should have been no great rush, but the situation on Lake Starnberg and the popular recreational area Percha/Kempfenhausen remains critical. "We are faced with chaotic conditions, especially on weekends," reports Bernward Nebgen from the Verwertes Starnberg association after a youth football tournament of the FT Starnberg 09, which attracted around 1,500 participants. Local residents had to complain about inaccessible land and blocked escape routes, while the public transport bus did not get any further.

towing campaigns and police presence

to master this problem, Janik plans a campaign weekend with the police and towing vehicles to call the wrong -way parkers to order. But despite these efforts, it is a lack of numerous fronts. The police are currently struggling with a lack of personnel and, due to the large area of use, cannot intervene as often as it would be necessary. A ZKDO employee has monitored dormant traffic since the beginning of the year, but these measures alone do not lead to the desired success, since only the police can order towing campaigns. In the past week, the police provided a total of 22 false parkers and had a vehicle towed, but the question remains whether this is sufficient to improve the situation sustainably.

"The defective barrier in front of the 'undosa' leads to parked cars in this critical zone," a resident refers to another tough problem. The parking space is also scarce, which means that many citizens disregard the traffic rules in sunny weather. False parkers are warned with fines of 15 euros for a stopping ban and 35 euros for parking in the escape route.

suggestions for defusing

To get the parking problem under control, the FT Starnberg 09 pointed out the urgent lack of parking spaces and recommended alternative parking facilities. A proposal for creating your own access from Weilheimer Strasse and an additional parking space is in the room. But it remains to be seen whether this is really put into action.

In the meantime, the residents and guests are still required to adhere to the existing signage. The false parkers seem to lack awareness of the severity of their actions. However, Mayor Janik understands the situation of the residents and emphasizes the need for effective towing measures to restore order in Starnberg. Will the announced initiatives be fruited? Summer will have to show how great the willingness to inspect and change is among road users.
