Wittenbeck is fighting strongly at Ele Rally 2025 - Top 10 despite challenges!
Rosenheim, Deutschland - On June 10, 2025, the second event of the ADAC Opel Electric Rally Cup 2025 at Ele Rally took place. The Infypower Chargebyte E-Rally Team, represented by the driver Johannes Wittenbeck and his co-pilot Maximilian Kugler, reached a solid 9th place under 12-launched teams. Even if the placement is not cheering at first glance, there were both challenges and successes for the team.
The rally offered an exciting mix of fast asphalt sections and challenging gravel passages. In particular, the so -called fech fech sections - fine, sandy dust, which affects the grip in the dryness - represented an additional challenge. On Friday evening, the team could not quite build on the strong performance from the start of the season in Sulingen. A flat foot at the first exam on Saturday morning caused an unexpected loss of time.
weather changes and challenges
The change in the weather did not make the whole thing easier: constant rain converted the route into a muddy challenge. Despite these adversity, the team achieved a total time of 1: 30: 39.6 hours, which meant a gap from over three minutes to the winners Álex Español and Borja Odriozola from Spain.
The Power Stage was particularly surprising, where Wittenbeck and Kugler took 5th place and thus secured an additional championship point. With a clever tactic - dried tires on the front right - they were able to make up for 16 seconds to 8th place. Only 2.6 seconds were missing to achieve an even better placement.A look at the season
