New operator at the Hammerwirt: Vietnamese fusion cuisine in Rosenheim!
There will soon be new culinary highlights in Rosenheim, as restaurateur Thanh Van Beck is opening a second restaurant on Kufsteiner Straße in the former “Hammerwirt”, which has been empty for almost three years. This reports rosenheim24.de. This opening represents a new beginning, as the owners have completely gutted the building and modernized it. The redesign includes, among other things, new underfloor heating and a fresh counter system.
Beck, who already runs the Vietnamese restaurant “Lychees” in the Gillitzerblock, is planning a fusion kitchen in the new restaurant that offers both Vietnamese dishes and an innovative delivery service. It is interesting that this delivery service is the first Vietnamese service to be launched in Rosenheim. For this purpose, three new electric vehicles will be used in cooperation with BMW Unterberger, indicating that environmentally friendly solutions are the focus. Beck also plans to use eco-friendly bamboo packaging for delivery services.
Opening and catering experience
The new restaurant is scheduled to open at the beginning of December 2025. Thanh Van Beck already has 15 years of experience in the catering industry, including managing an international restaurant in Munich. The restaurateur speaks Bavarian without a dialect and sees herself as an asset to the local gastronomy scene. The team behind Beck is seen as crucial to the success of the new restaurant, as she emphasizes.
Arno Mühlhausen, representative of the owner, describes the collaboration with Beck as harmonious and emphasizes the excitement associated with the new opening.
Challenges in the city center
One point that the restaurateur and many other people in the city center criticize is the lack of parking spaces, which is particularly a problem when it comes to pick-ups. This could be a challenge for the new restaurant in the early days, as it is important to allow guests to conveniently collect their orders. Solving this question will be crucial to the long-term success of the new restaurant.
Overall, the upcoming opening of the new restaurant brings a breath of fresh air to Rosenheim's gastronomy. The combination of traditional Vietnamese cuisine and modern delivery shows that the region's gastronomy is evolving and adapting to the needs of guests.
