In an exciting step for Bavaria's music culture, the national competition "Jugend musiziert" will take place in the cities of Regensburg and Munich in 2026. Every year, between 10,000 and 15,000 young musicians take part in the various competitions. For the 2026 federal competition, around 2,000 participants from all federal states and from German schools in other European countries are expected. Because the supervisory board of Deutscher Musikrat GmbH has decided on a new rule for the 2026 competition, which is based on suggestions from the federal-state conference "Youth Music".
