Maria Bauer's 80th birthday: a life for Pfaffenhofen

On Sunday, June 26, 2025, the well -known Pfaffenhofener Maria Bauer celebrated her 80th birthday. The jubilee, who was a member of the city council from 1972 to 1984, was surprised by Mayor Thomas Herker with the best wishes in the city. It is considered one of the first female local politicians in the district and leaves an impressive legacy.

Maria Bauer, born Hausl and origin from Walkersbach, campaigned for the improvement in childcare during her tenure. In 1973 the construction of a kindergarten near Ziegelstraße was launched under her aegis, but previously met with resistance from home gardeners. Her commitment culminated in her role as a urban consultant for kindergarten.

a long way to serve the community

After leaving the city council in 1984, to have more time for her family, Maria Bauer remained loyal to the community. From 1986 she was active in the parish council, from 1998 to 2010 she acted as its chair. The silver city medal was awarded for her many years of commitment to local politics and the church in 2005. At her birthday party, too, the focus was on discussion about current topics in Pfaffenhofen, especially childcare, which underlines its ongoing connection with the city.

Thanks to her excellent reputation and the sustainable effects of her work, Maria Bauer is still an estimated member of the Pfaffenhofen community. This appreciation expressed Mayor Herker in his personal congratulations, which shows how much local politics appreciated its pioneering work at the time.
