Nuremberg celebrates international flair: art, culture and relationships!

Nuremberg, a city that boasts cosmopolitanism and international flair, is once again characterized by cultural diversity. With a wide range of events and exhibitions, the city promotes exchange with partners from all over the world. A particularly revealing place is this Holy Spirit Hall, which presents the colors and shapes of Romanian artist Stella Radu. Her works can be seen until today - June 26, 2025 - and are a colorful homage to nature.

But Nuremberg's commitment does not end with art. Another highlight will be the 19th German-Romanian Summer Festival, which will be celebrated on July 5th and 6th, 2024 at the Kornmarkt. Culture and cuisine come together here. Visitors can look forward to traditional Romanian delicacies and a lively program of music, dance and theater. This event is not only a celebration of Romanian culture, but also a tribute to the friendship between Nuremberg and Brasov that has existed since 2006.

Tradition and international cooperation

The continuous strengthening of international relations is of great value to the city. With over 6,500 town twinnings Worldwide, many of which are linked to European cities, Nuremberg actively contributes to intercultural understanding. These partnerships promote exchange in various areas such as culture, education and business.

On the occasion of the summer festival, Mayor Marcus König will also invite people to the Kornmarkt with a celebratory opening on Sunday, July 3rd, at 12.30 p.m. He is supported by Allen Coliban, his counterpart from Brașov, and high-ranking representatives such as the consul of the Romanian Consulate General, Janette Carabasu. Together the trio will celebrate the good relations between Germany and Romania.

A new chapter in international cooperation

As part of these efforts, the Nuremberg Mayor's Office launched a new department for international affairs, protocol and events in June 2025. This merger brings together the previously separate offices of international relations and protocol and ensures that the city is optimally prepared for its international contacts. The department takes care of projects in different areas and plays a central role in maintaining town twinning and community friendships, so that there is an opportunity for lively communication and collaboration.

The upcoming exhibitions, in particular the Ukrainian photography shown from July 3, 2025, which documents the experiences during the workshops in Donetsk, Kharkiv and Nuremberg, show Nuremberg's efforts to continue to build bridges and promote intercultural dialogue.

Overall, with these initiatives, Nuremberg is sending a strong signal for intercultural coexistence - both in the context of celebrations and through the promotion of art and international exchange.
