Hans im Glück: Fantastic theater for the whole family in Elsenfeld!

Autumn is approaching, and with it a great cultural highlight for the whole family! On September 21st at 4 p.m., the Poetenpack Theater in the Elsenfeld Community Center will bring the fairy tale performance “Hans im Glück” to the stage. In addition to an entertaining theater experience, the little artists among us are also challenged: a painting competition is running in preparation for the event, in which the best works can win tickets for the performance. This initiative invites children to express their creativity and get involved in the world of theater. Further information can be found on the Miltenberg district website.

What does the audience expect? The story of Hans, who has earned more than he needs in seven years, takes some unexpected turns. Despite all his wealth, Hans carries around a heavy nugget of gold that doesn't really bring him any joy. On his way home he meets a rider who suggests he trade his horse for the nugget of gold. The plot is influenced by a goblin who always makes sure that the exchanges go in his favor. These elements of the story invite us to reflect on the value of happiness and the meaning of possessions. The piece is aimed at children aged four and over and offers both entertainment and valuable food for thought.

A piece for the whole family

This performance is not only interesting for children, but also stimulates discussion among adults. Questions like “Do possessions really make you happy?” are addressed in an accessible way. “Hans im Glück” allows viewers to immerse themselves in the child’s perspective and think about their own values and wishes. An ideal opportunity to spend a lovely afternoon together with the family!

Tickets for the performance are already available in advance from the Cultural Department of the Miltenberg District Office. If you are interested and would like more information or have questions, the team is available on 09371 501-501 or by email at kultur@lra-mil.de. The details can also be found on the Miltenberg district website.

The theater is an important cultural enrichment for rural areas, and there are ongoing efforts to improve access to high-quality cultural offerings for children and young people. This is done, among other things, through events that address resilience, addiction prevention and conflict resolution. An open invitation to help shape these cultural offerings is addressed to the young generation of parents as well as to communities and districts. The panelists include, among others, Dr. Martin Brunnhuber from the Free Voters and Anna Reitberger, the managing director of the State Association for Cultural Education.

For those interested in attending such discussions, free entry is offered, but with limited seating. Registration is required and can be done at festivalprien@gmail.com.

Be there and let yourself be enchanted by “Hans im Glück” – a piece that not only delights the little ones, but also makes the adults think!
