Women's network demands more protection against domestic violence in the district!
In the Main-Spessart region, a strong sign of domestic violence is set. The Main-Spessart women's network (FEMSP) has organized an elaborate hiking exhibition in order to raise social awareness of this topic. Thanks to the support from the Main-Spessart district office, represented by Equal Opportunities Laura Senger and Tanja Amersbach from the health region Plus, the exhibition will draw attention to various types of violence. It is aimed at those affected in particular, encourages them to use aid offers and indicates them. According to Main-Echo's report, Laura Senger emphasizes that violence is not only a problem of the big cities, but also occurs in rural areas such as Main-Spessart and has to be made visible there.
The exhibition will be shown in Sparkasse Karlstadt by June 27 and is accessible. The exhibition is particularly closed on public holidays. In this context, Peter Schmitt, deputy board member of the Sparkasse, emphasizes social responsibility, while Brita Richl, head of the AWO women's house in Würzburg, addresses the challenges for women affected by violence and the need for support that goes beyond the exhibition. Verena Frey and Heike Kralik from the FEMSP network also handed over a claim paper to the deputy district administrator Christoph Vogel.
claims for more help
In the claim paper, the network outlines several important points that should not only improve the situation of those affected, but also strive for structural changes in the region. Central demands include:
- More protection places for women and children, even without waiting for a legal claim until 2032.
- Expansion of specialized advisory services with mobile and multilingual formats.
- prevention in schools, police and in the medical field as well as a district -wide educational campaign.
- The creation of a full -time coordination center in the district office.
- secure financing for prevention measures and instant help.
- stronger networking of all those involved in the help system.
The deputy district administrator Christoph Vogel assured that these claims to the responsible committees forward to initiate the necessary steps. It is crucial that such initiatives are not only formally on paper, but are also implemented practically. Women and girls affected by violence receive support from what social class or origin they come from. Regardless of whether it is domestic violence, sexualized violence or other forms - the help system offers a wide range of support structures.
diverse offers of help
The help system in Germany is well developed and offers various services for women who have experienced violence. Women's advice centers and women's emergency calls offer both personal and telephone advice. Here are trained consultants who help in different languages and offer support in life crises, psychological stress or existential problems. Comprehensive support can take advantage of affected women as well as their relatives - and all free and anonymous, if desired. > Women's counter-violence provides information about a wide range of help that is specially tailored to the needs of girls and women.
There are many forms of violence that are treated, including domestic violence, rape, sexual harassment and even digital violence. In addition, specialist advice centers take care of the social and economic rehabilitation of those affected by violence so that they can successfully deny the difficult path to independence. In view of the still existing challenges in the help system, such as the lack of nationwide care or the inadequate personnel resources, it is now all the more important that the requirements of the FEMSP are quickly implemented.
For affected women, help telephones have been set up: on Tel. 116 016 you can contact the nationwide help phone "Violence against Women" directly. Men who are in violent situations can also contact a hotline, Tel. 0800 123 99 00. The right to help and protection must be there for everyone.
