The CITY CYCLING campaign in the Main-Spessart district celebrated an impressive anniversary this year: the bike challenge started for the tenth time and the results are more than impressive. From theMay 18 to June 7, 20251,484 participants pedaled in Main Spessart a total of 291,144 kilometers in 57 teams. The goal was clear: to motivate people to use bicycles more in everyday life.

The event was organized by the Agenda 21 representative, the climate protection and regional management and the cycling representatives. The enthusiasm was palpable, and the organizers also greatly appreciated the support of schools and local initiatives.

Top teams and personal records

The team competition was really tough. The Johann-Rudolph-Glauber-Realschule in Karlstadt was able to secure first place with 193 cyclists and an outstanding 29,487 kilometers covered. He was followed by Bosch Rexroth in second place with 84 cyclists and 22,584 km. The Franz-Ludwig-von-Erthal-Gymnasium Lohr completed the podium with 125 participants and 22,054 km.

The achievements of individual cyclists are particularly noteworthy: over 820 people managed to cycle more than 100 km during the campaign. Christoph Därr from Schneider Electric #ImpactMaker achieved first place among the men with 1,683.4 km, while Isabella Hornig from BKH Lohr covered the most kilometers among the women with 1,160 km.

Special prices and promotions

The campaign was not just a sporting competition, but also included a wide variety of events, such as bike checks, mountain bike tours and e-bike training. Numerous vouchers were raffled off among the participants, supported by local bike shops and banks, to further promote the joy of cycling.

The team ranking “most kilometers per capita” also had exciting results. Here the Spessartgrund Biker team won with 601 km per capita. Schneider Electric #ImpactMaker and RV Viktoria Wombach followed in second and third place with 467 km and 375 km per capita.

Overall, it can be said: CITY CYCLING 2025 was not only a lot of fun, but also made an important contribution to climate protection.
