Digital education in kindergarten: Nine daycare centers start revolutionary initiative!

Karlstadt, Deutschland - digital education already arrives in kindergarten! In the current kindergarten year 2024/2025, nine daycare centers take part in the innovative training program "Start chance Kita.digital" in the Main-Spessart district. The initiative, which originated in September 2021, pursues the goal of actively supporting daycare centers in implementing their digital educational mandate. An important part of the training is training in creative and responsible use of digital media in early childhood education. Over 300 daycare centers throughout Bavaria took part in the campaign this year, despite the continuing shortage of skilled workers, such as [main-spessart.de] (https://www.main-spessart.de/aktuelles/pressemitteilungen/10155.digitale-bildung-schon-im-kitas-kitas-aus-main-Spessart-Spessart-Tharften --sSSS-SSTACHACTI.Digital.html) reports.

The opening event for further training took place in the parish hall to the Holy Family in Karlstadt, where media educator Frank Findeß headed the training courses. In practice -oriented workshops, the educators tried out how to use digital tools efficiently in their daycare centers. It is particularly important in this context that the parents are also included in information evenings and practical exercises in order to promote their handling of digital media.

results and insights

The final event, also in the parish hall of the Holy Family, provided an exciting insight into the creative results of the participating institutions. The children presented their self -designed films, media collages and audio games, which not only caused enthusiasm, but also underlined the high acceptance of digital media among the educators. These agree that the integration of digital media is a valuable asset for everyday kindergarten life.

The daycare centers involved are:

  • Baumhof Kita (Marktheidenfeld)
  • Catholic kindergarten St. Sebastian (Zellingen)
  • Kindergarten St. Radegundis (Gössenheim)
  • Community kindergarten Middle sense
  • Kindergarten "whirlwind" (Tiefenthal)
  • Evangelische Kita "Schatzkiste" (Kreuzwerheim)
  • Catholic children's house "Zur Holy Family" (Karlstadt)
  • Evangelical Kindergarten St. Andreas (Remlingen)
  • Catholic child and youth center Grombühl (Würzburg)

The “Start chance Kita.digital” program offers selected formats: daycare centers can take part in regional presence courses or national online courses that are tailored to the different needs of children's cribs, kindergartens and after-school care. Targeted offers are also made for special media topics. With these measures, a broad access to digital educational resources ensures, as can be read on ifp.bayern.de.

The daycare centers not only receive valuable suggestions for digital photo, audio and film work with the children, but also have the opportunity to train themselves through the online platform KITA HUB Bayern. There are numerous materials for digitization and media literacy available, which are intended to enrich everyday life in the daycare centers. The implementation of the digital educational offers is continuously developed and offers the children in the Main-Spessart district to be optimal in order to be prepared for the digital world.
