Alliance 90/The Greens: New team for strong local election campaign 2026!

Franziskanerstraße 14, 80331 München, Deutschland - On July 1, 2025, the annual meeting of Bündnis 90/Die Grünen Main-Spessart took place in Langenprozelte. Despite the high summer temperatures, 25 members came to discuss the future of the district association and to vote for a new board. The unanimous discharge of the previous board of directors according to the reports on accounting, cash register and the examiner reports, such as Verena Frey from Karlstadt and Gerhard Kraft from Laudenbach were once again unanimously elected as district chair. The new team of the board is also made up of treasurer Karin Pecher (Karlstadt) and secretary Angelika Rütz (Zellingen). The assessors are Tim Weidner (Lohr), Patricia Amersbach (Retzstadt) and Stefan Väth (Partenstein). The cash auditors Wolfgang Küber (Rieneck) and Alexandra de Gruyter (Marktheidenfeld) will continue to keep an eye on finances.

As part of the meeting, the focus for the upcoming local election campaign was determined. Verena Frey emphasized the need to strengthen equality policy and to involve different perspectives in political decision -making processes. Another central concern is direct contact with the population in order to better understand their concerns and to incorporate into the political work.

Also when choosing delegates for the district presidency and the district assembly, important positions were filled. Frey was elected as a delegate, while Karin Pecher and Gerhard Kraft act as a replacement delegate. Bärbel Imhof, Elke Herrmann-Rüppel, Verena Frey, Gerhard Kraft and Walter Gleichmann were nominated for the district meeting.

A look beyond the national borders shows that the Greens in Bavaria are already involved in the preparations for the 2026 local elections. At an event in the state office in Munich, in which the chairman of the district committee Jörg Spengler also took part, the success of the Green Group was examined in the current election period.
