Safe through the winter: Landsberg is preparing for the cold!

Winter is just around the corner and the city of Landsberg am Lech has prepared well for the cold season. The winter service brochure is now available in all city facilities so that citizens can start the frosty months well informed. The municipal public works department is pleased to announce that it is well equipped to meet the demands of the winter with sufficient staff and suitable vehicles. The city of Landsberg reports this in its current press release landsberg.de.

This year there are some new developments that will please local residents. The winter service in the districts of Erpfting and Ellighofen will once again be carried out by the municipal building depot, which increases accessibility and safety for all citizens. The cycle path connections managed by the construction yard are particularly important, including the routes to Erpfting, Freies Feld and Pürgen, as well as the connection to Pitzling. So good service is the order of the day here!

Safe routes for everyone

There will also be regular clearances at selected staircases. These include, among others, the Lechsteg from von-Kühlmann-Straße and the Alte Bergstraße to Helfensteingasse. To ensure that citizens can get to school or work safely, there are also stairs that have to be closed when it snows, such as the Klösterl car park up to the Schanzwiese.

The residents of the other staircases are responsible for clearing and gritting themselves in accordance with local regulations. To make things easier for citizens, the city provides free litter material. At seven depots in the city - including in Ahornallee and Danziger Platz - private households can pick up materials to keep sidewalks in front of their properties in good condition.

Winter service and legal responsibility

It is important to note that property owners are responsible for the sidewalks along their properties. This regulation applies to both private and commercial properties. After ADAC When there is black ice and snow, residents should ensure that driveways, parking spaces and public areas such as supermarket parking lots are accessible. In the event of injuries caused by paths not being cleared properly, those responsible can be held accountable.

Mayor Doris Baumgartl expressed a big thank you to the winter service employees who ensure the safety and mobility of citizens year after year. Further information can be found in the brochure “Together through the winter”, which is available in public facilities and can also be downloaded online.

With these preparations, the city of Landsberg is well prepared to get through the winter together. Citizens are invited to actively participate and fulfill their responsibilities so that everyone can get through the cold season safely and carefree.
