Rescue dog team triumphs: Katja and Anton pass examination in Bavaria!
What an exciting weekend for the Johanniter rescue dog team in Landshut! Katja Laube and her loyal companion Anton have successfully passed the comprehensive rescue dog test. This challenge took place in Landsberg am Lech in mid-June and was an important part of the re-certification process for suitable rescue dog teams. As Johanniter , such exams must be taken every two years in order to be alerted in the event of missing persons.
on the exam weekend, which took place at two locations - St. Ottilien Monastery and a forest area near Schwifting - the participants were put through their paces. The content extended from cynology and first aid to tactics and searches on the area on an area of impressive 30,000 square meters. The goal: to ensure the usefulness of humans and animals and to secure the quality of the work.
high in performance
With 17 teams from all over Germany who faced the challenges, the competition was anything but easy. Katja Laube's fingers crossed and she was more than satisfied with Anton's performance, who did an excellent work despite the heat and high requirements. support & training for rescue dog teams
The regional association Eastern Bavaria of the Johanniter-Accident Aid brings together more than 1900 full-time employees who work in a variety of social services, including child and youth care, house emergency call, outpatient care and menu service. In addition to this extensive offer, around 600 volunteers are involved in six local associations to support the community.
New developments in the support of rescue dog teams also come from the digital world. A recently developed app for the DRK's rescue dog test acts as an intelligent index card system and offers users the opportunity to learn based on their level of knowledge. This app, which can be found as a free offer on büffeln.net , enables a simple and effective learning environment for prospective rescue dog handlers.
From basic questions from training to specific exam questions, users can continuously monitor their progress and deepen their knowledge.
a global network for life -saving work
But not only in Germany the topic of rescue dog work is very important. Internationally there are organizations such as IRO DOGS who devote themselves to the training and support of emergency dogs. These organizations combine national and international institutions and build a strong network to save lives. You exchange knowledge and experience through your member organizations and thus contribute to a better standard in the training of rescue dog teams.
The services provided by teams such as that by Katja Laube and Anton are a significant part of the common vision to help people in need. In a world in which every life counts, the commitment of these teams cannot be assessed high enough. We thank the rescue dog teams for their tireless efforts and wish Katja and Anton all the best for the upcoming missions!
