Intercultural playground festival in Landsberg: Play, dance, celebrate!

The intercultural playground festival will be celebrated in Landsberg am Lech on Friday, July 11, 2025 under the motto “Games, dance and the sound of drums”. From 3:00 p.m., the playground on Lechwiesenstrasse, at the corner of Iglinger Strasse, invites all visitors, young and old, to celebrate together and experience a colorful variety. This is not only a great opportunity to network, but also part of the 600th anniversary year of the Bayertor Landsberg.de reported.

The festival will be enriched by numerous creative and musical offerings, including a drumming workshop with Pape Kane, which will introduce visitors to African rhythms. The Dao-Center Landsberg will also offer martial arts and self-defense courses for children. Creative craft stations provide entertainment: the Minimax and family oasis invite you to do crafts in a medieval theme, while participants can make DIY cosmetics in a workshop for bath pearls and bath teas. But that's not all, musical entertainment by Stadbarde Erik von der Landespurch and performances by the stilt group Aurum are also planned. The “Meet & Eat” picnic area is also special, where visitors can enjoy the snacks and blankets they brought with them.

A festival of encounters

The intercultural playground festival not only invites people of all ages to play, but also promotes respectful interaction and openness in the community. At a similar event on the last Friday in June, over 150 participants were enthusiastic, including many families like this Merkur.de reported. The drum group from Senegal, led by Pape Kane, opened the festival and drew lively applause, while a dance workshop from the Payer dance school and children's activities such as face painting and crafts in the pavilion invited people to try out new things and let off steam creatively.

Guests were able to try out a range of games, such as sack races and tug of war, and many took the opportunity to make new friends and catch up over snacks. In the words of integration officer Daniela Moritz and her colleague Fiona Andersen, the event not only served to socialize, but also to promote cohesion between the different cultures in Landsberg.

The look forward

After the success of the last festival, the next date has already been set: the Playground Festival East will take place on July 19th in the Quartierspark on Spitalfeldstrasse. This series of events impressively demonstrates the city's commitment to promoting intercultural encounters and creating a coexistence based on respect and friendship.
