Breslauer Straße: New bike path and free pretzels are waiting for you!

In Landsberg am Lech, the city administration successfully completed the renovation of Breslauer Straße. The renovation was accompanied by the clear goal of strengthening the environmental network and establishing bicycle traffic as an equal part of urban traffic. Mayor Doris Baumgartl will surprise the first 200 residents with free pretzels on July 10 from 8:30 a.m. to celebrate this milestone. A team from the building authority will be on site to be available if you have any questions.

The redesigned road now offers a combined walking and bike path that is designed for a width of three meters. A newly created green strip separates this path from the road. This measure not only ensures more security, but also acts as a snow catchment area, which means that the cycle path is better usable all year round. The renovation also prioritizes the improvement of the way to school and provides for new bus stops and modern middle islands as emergency devices.

a step towards the traffic turnaround

The conversion of Breslauer Straße is in line with the city's mobility concept, which focuses on safety, efficiency and sustainability. Bicycle traffic in particular is increasingly recognized as an essential element of urban mobility. The General German Bicycle Club (ADFC), which is committed to over 230,000 members for the traffic transition in Germany, emphasizes the need for a safe and comfortable cycle path network. Your demand: create space for cyclists to promote the bike as an everyday means of transport. ADFC would like to win people of all ages and place of residence to use the bicycle-and the new developments in Landsberg could set a big sign for this.

With the conversion and expansion of Breslauer Straße, the city is on the right track to take into account the needs of all road users. The new walking and cycle paths that offer enough space should not only be practical, but also attractive. This finds its place in the context of the urban mobility concept, which wants to create safe and comfortable alternative routes along the main axes.

The comprehensive renovation of the road surface and the renewal of the water pipes are other factors that contribute to a experienced improvement in the quality of life of the residents. In a multi -part construction phase, which was implemented with a lot of commitment and foresight, the city now sees good chances of sustainably improving the traffic situation in Landsberg and actively involving the citizens in the process.

However,

An end is not in sight: the path to a modern and environmentally friendly transport infrastructure is long, but with every measure that is taken, the city is one step closer to future -proof mobility. This continues the efforts to further expand cycling and also offer other road users the best possible conditions.

With the conversion of Breslauer Straße, Landsberg am Lech sets an important sign in terms of sustainable mobility and shows that the city has a good hand when it comes to finding future -oriented and practical solutions.
