Construction work at Penzinger Feld: road safety guaranteed!

The city of Landsberg am Lech has big plans: Comprehensive road maintenance work in the “Am Penzinger Feld” area is on the agenda from August 1st to 23rd, 2025. This measure is necessary to ensure the long-term stability of the traffic area and to ensure traffic safety for all users. High traffic volumes and intensive delivery traffic have already caused serious damage in the form of broken asphalt and loose curbs, like the city on its website communicates.

As part of the work, the entire asphalt structure will be removed and replaced. In addition, curbs and watercourses in the inner arch will be repaired. A total of around 500 square meters are affected, which is of great importance for transport connections in this area. Despite the construction work, access and exit to the surrounding commercial units remains possible at any time. Detours will be signposted in the area so that no one is left behind. Of course, access for the fire brigade and rescue services is guaranteed at all times.

The city of Landsberg asks residents and road users to understand any disruptions. People are aware of the challenge and want to keep the inconvenience as low as possible. Weather-related adjustments to the measure cannot be ruled out and can influence the planning. If you have any questions, the city administration's road construction department is available.

Construction work in public spaces

In addition to the work on “Am Penzinger Feld”, things are also going on in other places in Landsberg: construction work for the footpath and cycle path on Breslauer Straße began on June 21, 2023. The existing footpath and cycle path will be merged there to increase safety for pedestrians and cyclists. Once this work is completed, the combined path will be an impressive three meters wide.

In the meantime, traffic heading into the city will be guided by a one-way system, while traffic heading out of the city will be rerouted via Hindenburgring and Holzhauser Straße. Two bus stops on the east side of Breslauer Straße also have to be temporarily relocated, which will result in additional changes. A replacement stop for Römerhang will be moved to the bay on von-den-Hoff-Straße, while the Breslauer Straße stop (opposite Rewe) will be moved to Holzhauser Straße in front of house number 12.

The city administration is striving to keep the disruption to residents, road users and local public transport during this construction phase as low as possible and would like to thank the citizens for their understanding and patience.
