It is a special day for the Bavarian Red Cross (BRK): At a festive honoring event on November 8, 2025, numerous committed personalities from various areas of the BRK were honored for their tireless efforts. In a celebratory atmosphere, BRK President Angelika Schorer and State Preparedness Manager Stephan Strittmatter carried out the awards, which highlighted their commitment to blood donation appointments, medical and care services, and training opportunities. Schorer noted how important this work is, especially in times of change, while Strittmatter addressed the current zeitgeist and the associated challenges.

Many outstanding achievements were recognized at the event. Among others, members from the district associations of Upper Bavaria, Lower Bavaria/Upper Palatinate, Upper and Middle Franconia and Swabia were honored. Here are some of the most prominent names and honors:

Digital donor service is revolutionizing blood donations

Parallel to the honorary event, there was also exciting news from the world of blood donation. The blood donation service has introduced a digital donation service in Bavaria that is easy to use and offers great advantages. With the associated app, donors can now easily search for blood donation appointments, reserve them, and view their previous donation history.

The innovative app offers numerous practical functions, such as the management of donation locations and a digital blood donation card that is always at hand. A health check with permanent storage of the results also ensures that donors are always informed about their health status. Finally, a forum enables exchange with other donors from Germany and an email service reminds people of the next donation. If you would like to register for this service, you can do so easily via the app or the website www.spenderservice.net do.

With these changes and the recognition of volunteers, the Bavarian Red Cross shows how important commitment to the community is and that every blood donation counts. This appreciation and the new digital possibilities will certainly help to promote the willingness to donate and effectively support people in need.
