Topping out ceremony in Kaufbeuren: 218 subsidized apartments for everyone!
A new residential area is being created in the heart of Kaufbeuren, which will soon house 218 subsidized apartments. Two days ago the topping-out ceremony was celebrated for this exciting project, which is being built on a 20,000 m² site on Füssener Straße. Construction work is in full swing and the shell work on three of the six planned buildings has already been largely completed. The remaining buildings are following at a good pace, and completion is targeted for 2026, as konii.de reports.
A place to live for everyone
The new apartments are aimed at singles, couples and families with low to middle incomes. This project is part of the income-oriented funding (EOF Bavaria), which is intended to help people who are looking for a good home. Young families in rural areas can also benefit from this offer. The Free State of Bavaria is taking on an important role in housing promotion and has invested around 2.2 billion euros in the past two years to create affordable housing, which represents a record in support of housing companies, as stmb.bayern.de informs.
Modern construction and environmental awareness
The total living space will amount to an impressive 16,100 m² and the buildings will meet the Efficiency House 55 standard. They use 45% less primary energy than legally required - a clear step towards climate protection. In addition, a residents' parking garage with 248 parking spaces will be built at the rear of the property, which can be reached via a new access road from Füssener Straße.
Additional attention is also paid to nature conservation. A 700 m² replacement habitat is being created for the sand lizards, meaning environmental protection and new construction go hand in hand. A noise barrier also ensures a pleasant living atmosphere in the new residential area.
The need for subsidized living space is high, and Kaufbeuren is playing a pioneering role here. The city will not only become more attractive as a living space for people of different income levels, but also as a place where environmental protection and modern living can come together.
