The Haßberge district is again represented on the ÖDP district executive board. Dieter Sauer and Esther Wagenhäuser were elected as assessors.

In the Haßberge district there is fresh news from the world of the Ecological Democratic Party (ÖDP). Again Franconian day reports, the district was able to successfully gain a foothold on the district board of the ÖDP Lower Franconia after a phase of absence. In the most recent election, two new assessors were appointed to the committee: Dieter Sauer from Zeil and Esther Wagenhäuser from Knetzgau. As the long-time treasurer of the ÖDP Haßberge district association, Sauer brings a lot of experience with him, while Wagenhäuser was previously active on the board of the ÖDP district association.
In addition to the new addition to the advisory board, Bernhard Schmitt, the city councilor from Aschaffenburg, was also re-elected district chairman. Waldemar Bug, the former mayor of Burkardroth, will remain at his side as deputy chairman. Hubertus Brand, who is considered a former tax official and is well versed in accounting, remains district treasurer. Another assessor, Dr. Hans von Besser is a biologist who particularly focuses on water and sponge city issues.
Activities and outlook of the ÖDP
The structure of the ÖDP remains dynamic: Klaus Vath was re-elected as deputy, while Achim Blaschke now oversees finances as the new treasurer. The assessors are Alexandra Vath from Roßbach and Marianne Krommer from Bürgstadt. Günter Vogt remains active as secretary, supported by the auditors Walther Peeters and Manfred Reis.
Political representation in Bavaria
A look at the political landscape in Bavaria shows that the ÖDP currently has 6 mayors. Among them is Anita Bogner in Rain (Straubing-Bogen) and Martin Prey in Niedermurach (Schwandorf). ÖDP representatives are also active in the second and third rows, including Georg Miller as the second mayor in Riegsee.
The ÖDP has thus earned a permanent place not only in the Haßberge district, but also throughout Bavaria. She remains an important voice for ecological issues, especially in times when environmental awareness and sustainable politics are very popular.
