Christmas markets 2025: A festival of lights in the Günzburg district!

The Advent season is just around the corner and a festive mood is already spreading in the Günzburg district. From the end of November 2025, numerous Christmas markets will invite you to enjoy the anticipation of the festival. You can already look forward to a variety of events ranging from traditional to romantic.

One of the first opportunities to get in the mood for the contemplative time is the Advent market in the Wettenhausen Monastery, which takes place on November 22nd and 23rd, 2025. The gates are open here on Saturday from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. and on Sunday from 11:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. The Advent market in the Kolping Hall in Günzburg, which is open on the same Saturday, November 22nd, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., is for a good cause. The proceeds go towards helping seniors in need.

Tradition and enjoyment at the St. Nicholas market

A highlight in the region is the traditional St. Nicholas market in Günzburg, which has been taking place since 1889 - with few interruptions. On December 5, 2025, the market will open its doors on the market square from 3 p.m. to 10 p.m. and will offer over 50 stalls with a colorful range of goods. Visitors can look forward to homemade Christmas tree decorations, decorative items from the region and many culinary delicacies such as mulled wine, waffles and bratwurst. Shops in the city center are also open regularly on this day, which gives the market additional charm.

But that's not all: Special markets await guests in the old town of Günzburg in December. From December 3rd to 6th, the Dossenberger Hof will be the festive backdrop for the Günzburg Old Town Christmas. You can stroll here every day from 11 a.m., on Wednesdays until 9 p.m. and until the end at 10 p.m.

Experience diversity

In addition to the markets already mentioned, there are numerous other events on the program in the coming weeks. The romantic Advent market in Edelstetten can be experienced from November 28th to 30th, and the castle Christmas in Burgau from December 12th to 14th. The finale is the Christkindlesmarkt in Leipheim on December 14th - entry is free and the gates open from 2 p.m.
