Metropolitan marathon 2025: Over 9,000 runners defy the summer heat!

Fürth, Deutschland - An exciting weekend for all sports enthusiasts! On June 22, 2025, the Sparkassen metropolitan marathon took place in Fürth and Nuremberg. Over 9,000 runners had registered for the different competitions, and the atmosphere was electrifying. The sun was happily shining with summer temperatures of up to 30 degrees Celsius, which the participants presented:

The event was a real festival for the entire region, where everything revolved around the sport. Almost 6,000 participants were at the start at the marathon, half marathon and 10 km run on Sunday morning, while around 3,000 young athletes were able to prove themselves at the kids marathon on Saturday. From marathon to half marathon to other competitions such as the Pillenstein Kidsmarathon, the 4.2 km run and Nordic walking was there for every taste.

Ten participants had to be brought to the Fürth Clinic, including two in a critical condition.
