Closure of the Vöttinger Tunnel: diversions from November 3, 2025!

Things will be tight in Freising from November 3rd: the Vötting tunnel on the western tangent will be closed until November 7th for urgently needed maintenance work. The city administration has already informed drivers in advance that the semi-annual cleaning and warranty inspection will be carried out during this time. The tunnel, an important transport route for many commuters, is not passable these days.

The closure lasts from Monday 8 a.m. to Friday 6 p.m. The detours are clearly defined. Anyone coming from Thalhauser Straße (St 2084) will find their way to Weihenstephaner Ring via the roundabout and then continue via Wettersteinring and Karwendelring. At Mainburger Straße we then head south again, past the intersection of Mainburger Straße and Landshuter Straße. There you turn right into Dr.-von-Daller-Straße and continue towards the airport. The entire route then leads to the Westtangente (FS 44) to Munich.

Alternative routes for drivers

There is also a diversion for those coming from Münchner Straße (St 2350). At the intersection of Münchner Straße/Saarstraße, turn left into Saarstraße, continue onto Johannisstraße and finally left into Vöttinger Straße (St 2339). From there turn right onto Thalhauser Straße (St 2084), which finally leads straight ahead at a roundabout towards Allershausen.

The city of Freising asks for your understanding for the inconvenience these measures cause. However, it is necessary to ensure user safety and maintain the quality of the infrastructure. It is also important to act in accordance with strict data protection laws. The Aurelia portal reported on the responsible body: Stefan Jahnel. Affected citizens can contact him at any time if they have any questions about their data, as the General Data Protection Regulation applies here.

For the information of citizens, it is noted that the city automatically collects some data when visiting its website. These include the browser, operating system and IP address to ensure optimal connection and usage security. But don't worry, the data will of course not be passed on to third parties without your consent. To make website navigation easier, cookies are also used, which can be deactivated via the browser settings.

For further information, especially regarding data protection regulations, it is worth taking a look at the website Aurelia and the Freisinger City page. With the upcoming maintenance work, Freising is once again required to keep the road infrastructure at a high level and at the same time take data protection seriously. This means that driving in the region will remain safe and pleasant in the future.
