Dental Clinic 1 conquers Tennenlohe: Firmathlon 2025 inspires everyone!

On June 25, 2025, the annual company event, the Firmathlon, was held in picturesque Tennenlohe. In bright sunshine and high temperatures, 291 employees of the University Hospital Erlangen (UKER) competed against each other in 97 teams of three. Among the participants was the team from Dental Clinic 1, consisting of Dr. Perez, Dr. Buchheidt-Dörfler and Dr. Motz, which presented itself under the creative group name “Karius and Baktus”. The event offered participants the opportunity to demonstrate their skills in a total of 16 different disciplines, such as running, cycling, football and even archery. The Firmathlon took place in the A course of the SVT Tennenlohe. Not only was an exciting competition atmosphere created here, but good catering also ensured physical well-being. The volunteer fire department and volunteers from the gymnastics team provided active support, and Sebastianstrasse was closed to ensure that the event ran smoothly. The numerous running and cycling groups as well as various exercise programs ensured that there was something for every age group and fitness level. An event for the whole family

The Firmathlon is not only about sport, but also about a sense of community. The participants were enthusiastic about the variety of activities on the program this year. From jumping fitness to Latin dance and darts, the selection was as colorful as the weather. So it happened that the focus was not only on top sporting performance, but also on fun and togetherness.

The positive organization of the event and the professional support were particularly highlighted, which shows that a lot of passion was put into the preparation. Popular activities among employees were archery on the designated archery field and the various exercise programs. Despite the large number of groups taking part, the event went smoothly and without incident.

A look forward

Preparations for the next Firmathlon have already begun, and the organizers are looking forward to integrating more exciting disciplines and activities. In the future, too, we want to combine sporting competition with social interaction and inspire the participants again and again. This mix makes the Firmathlon one of the most sought-after events in the region - and perhaps also a reason why more and more companies are considering this event as a team building event.
