New fire station in Berglern: Construction started with 5.9 million euros!

Berglern, Deutschland - Something exciting is happening in Berglern: the construction of the new fire brigade equipment house is just around the corner! The construction work begins in just three weeks and the anticipation is great. Vice Mayor Otmar Lerch announced that the total costs for this promising project are 5.9 million euros, plus 900,000 euros for building costs. The municipality can look forward to funding of 1.25 million euros, which makes the project much easier.

Currently the lines have already been laid in the ground, and the next step is the pressure test of the new line system. The casting of the base plate is provided in two weeks and the formwork is already being prepared. In order to ensure a smooth process, construction site meetings take place regularly in which at least one mayor participates. While Mayor Anton Scherer is on vacation, his deputies Lerch and Helmecke coordinate the necessary work so that everything remains on schedule.

Why is planning a fire station so decisive? Firefighters are not only accommodations for vehicles and equipment, they also have to meet strict safety requirements. Occupational and health protection plays a central role in minimizing injury risks, such as that can arise when moving around large vehicles. DIN 14092, the revised planning basis for fire brigade houses, ensures that such risks in new buildings are comprehensively taken into account in order to ensure the safety of the emergency services.

The new standards that will appear in June 2024 include comprehensive changes that ensure that this critical infrastructure not only meets the local requirements, but also remains steadfast when external influences arrive.
