Organ sounds in the Eichstätter Cathedral: Saturday concerts start soon!

Music lovers and those interested in culture be careful! In Eichstätt, the "organ summer", which is eagerly awaited, starts again this year, which opens its gates on July 19. As the Website of the diocese of Eichstätt can look forward to weekly concerts by October 4- Saturday from 11.30 a.m. to 12 p.m.

A total of twelve talented organists from different countries are on the program, which the audience will enchant with an exciting range of spiritual organ music from baroque to romance. The impressive cathedral organ, equipped with around 5,000 pipes and 68 registers, ensures an unforgettable sound experience.

Admission to the concerts is free, so the organizers are happy about voluntary donations to support the concert series. Admission is via the Willibaldschor entrance until 11.25 a.m., including a barrier -free cathedral elevator. It should be noted that there are no tours in the cathedral during the concerts.

A small foretaste of the program highlights: On the first day of the concert, July 19, the Salzburg organist Philipp Pelster will be on stage. Pavel Šmolík from the Czech Republic on July 26, and Franz Hauk from Ingolstadt on August 2. A versatile experience is guaranteed!

But that's not all! Immediately afterwards, another concert series of the "organ summer", which lasts until August 5, begins in the Guardian Angel Church in Eichstätt. The Eichstätter Dommusik has again prepared an appealing program, which is led by cathedral organist Martin Bernreuther.

The concerts also take place on Saturdays from 11.30 a.m. to 12 p.m., and here too it is free to admission. The series will be continued by the "organ autumn" program from September 16. The invited artists include Melanie Jäger-Waldau from Überlingen and Frank Dillmann from Nuremberg.
