Ebersberg celebrates the CSD 2025: City – Country – Queer” in planning!

In Ebersberg, anticipation is increasing for the upcoming Christopher Street Day (CSD), which will take place on July 19, 2025. After the successful debut last year, which attracted around 250 people, the organizers now want to put together a colorful program. Under the motto “City – Country – Queer”, the event is intended to set an example for openness and tolerance, similar to 2024, when there was a strong response from the queer community. At that time, despite a shitstorm on social media that ranged from hateful comments to violent fantasies, many people expressed their support for the event. These were confirmed, although the Munich public prosecutor's office stopped the investigation against the authors because the statements were considered too vague. However, the organizers, Marla (18), Vanessa (19) and Leonie (20), do not let these attacks get them down and emphasize that they want to continue to be visible, not only in Ebersberg, but also in the countryside.

Preparations for the CSD 2025 are already in full swing. In order to offer visitors an unforgettable experience, numerous program items are planned. Among other things, drag artists will perform, bands will provide musical entertainment, poetry slams will be organized and speeches will be given. For the parade there will be a float with a sound system that will let the participants parade through the streets. To ensure that as many people as possible can take part, a shuttle bus from Markt Schwaben is also offered. Various stands at Marienplatz will provide information materials, while a colorful stage program will create the right atmosphere.

A strong team for a strong event

After the first CSD, new supporters came forward who wanted to get actively involved in the planning. The team consists of 10 to 15 committed people, with other helpers in the background, and is a diverse range of ages between 17 and 55. The aim of the organizational team is to establish the CSD as an integral part of Ebersberg's annual event calendar. Despite challenges, such as the rise in anti-queer speech and increasing violence against the queer community, organizers are optimistic. You want to help improve visibility and acceptance.

The CSD activities are part of a larger trend that can be observed in Germany: more and more CSDs are also being held in small towns and rural regions. Loud daily news Over 140 CSD events took place in 2023 alone, mobilized by almost four million people. The number of CSDs has also increased in Bavaria, with Ebersberg now playing an important role. The organizers know the challenges that lie ahead, but they stand by their mission: “We will not be intimidated.”

In the evening, the Ebersberg youth center AJZ will open its doors and create a conclusion to the event. Here visitors can end the CSD in style and celebrate the successful return of the parade. Ebersberg will also show its colorful side in 2025 and send a strong signal against discrimination and for diversity.

Mercury reports on the positive developments in Ebersberg. It remains to be seen how many people will join the parade on July 19th, but what is certain is that the CSD is an important step towards equality and acceptance in this region.
