KDFB supports church building in India: 200 euros for a new home!

The Catholic Women's Federation (KDFB) shows a warm commitment with its most recent donation of 200 euros, which is intended for a church building project in Agnespuram, India. This is reported by PNP. The sum comes from the proceeds of the women's association's traditional Lenten meal, which not only conveys a taste of faith, but also promotes useful projects.

Parochial vicar Arul Irudayasam Antonysamy, who received the donation, was extremely grateful for the support. In Agnespuram, the villagers live modestly and mostly spend their days as day laborers in the fields. Building a church is a high priority for the community as services currently have to be held outdoors.

A little help with a big impact

The community has already raised an impressive €53,000 to advance construction of the church, but around €45,000 is still needed to complete the project. A detailed presentation of the project will be found in the upcoming parish bulletin, which could help the community mobilize further support.

Since its founding, the KDFB has made a name for itself both nationally and internationally by promoting women and their concerns. According to Engagiert, the KDFB supports a charitable organization every year. As part of an annual fundraising campaign, special attention is paid to women's solidarity. The aim is to give women in emergencies a greater voice through financial support and attention.

Women's projects in India

An important program in this context is the “Empowerment of Women Religious”, which has been running since 2000 and is intended to specifically strengthen women in India. Above all, awareness of the challenges that Indian women face in church and society is a central component of this initiative. For example, gender equality and professional opportunities are promoted in areas such as law and social work. The program also addresses the fears and challenges exacerbated by growing Hindu fundamentalism, as described on the Missio page.

It's clear that every donation makes a crucial difference. The KDFB's ongoing efforts in Agnespuram are not only a demonstration of solidarity but also a step towards positive change for the community. So we can only hope that the citizens of Germany continue to open their hearts and wallets to such important projects.
