This variety in colors, shapes and materials - from textile to wood to glass and ceramic - opens up a new view of what makes a hat or headgear.
The exhibiting works were chosen by an experienced jury, which includes Rudolf Schepp, the head of the Ceramic School Landshut, and Barbara Schmidt, the head of the Galerie Handwerk in Munich. Not to forget Anja Fröhlich M.A., who heads the Deggendorf museums, as well as Hubert Huber, the chairman of the professional association of visual artists Lower Bavaria, and Greta Butuci M.A., who acted as the research assistant of the craft museum and organizer of the competition.
The exhibitions present a colorful range of categories that include hats, protective headgear, head and face cover and wigs. For this purpose, the artists used very different materials - from bright colors to elaborate textures that amaze to be amazed. The new exhibition is part of the tradition of the craft museum, which organizes a competition for craft and design every three years.

texts and traditions
The exhibition not only stems to the creative skills of the participants, but also reflects the roots of textile art, which were historically often assigned to women. Despite the growing popularity, these artists still fight with a undervalued look. As the discussion about textile art shows, it is time to recognize this area as an independent art form. Returning to traditional techniques is particularly important with regard to new materials and techniques, such as optical fibers. This shows that craft not only means tradition, but also innovation.
