In a significant initiative to support First Nation athletes, the Allan government promotes participation in sport through a generous program that provides grants for trips, uniforms and equipment. As Mirage News , the Minister of Community Sports, Ros Spence, has the award of more than 100,000 AUD from the Aboriginal Sport Participation Grant Program announced.

The Rumbalara Football Netball Club stands out among the recipients of the program, which receives almost 1,000 AUD for new uniforms and equipment for women and girls between the ages of 11 and seniors. The Melbourne Warriors Junior Sports Club is supported with 4,000 AUD to obtain uniforms for the U10 and U12 basketball teams (boys and girls) who take part in the upcoming tournaments in 2025. A total of up to 1,000 AUD for team uniforms and equipment as well as up to 2,500 AUD for travel expenses for tournaments within Victoria and at the national level are offered.

The category, which provides up to 2,500 AUD for junior teams and 1,500 AUD for senior teams, is particularly interesting in order to cover travel and accommodation costs. It is important that all team members identify as Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander and take part in a corresponding sports carnival or tournament that takes place between July 1, 2024 and June 30, 2025.
