Blooming diversity: Plant market in Cham starts with a huge crowd!

The Cham market square is flourishing because the popular plant market has opened its doors. From June 12th to 28th, 2025, garden lovers and plant beginners can stroll between the Volksbank and the town hall and discover a variety of plants and handicrafts. Organized by Lisa Sittenauer from the Tourist Information, the event is once again attracting many enthusiastic visitors this year. With good weather, the opening was a complete success and the air already smells of freshly bloomed flowers.

Particular praise comes from the local fruit and horticultural clubs, who act as local contacts and give valuable tips for green thumbs. Numerous loving stalls not only offer plants, but also a few crafts around the corner that invite you to make yourself comfortable in your own garden. This attracts a lot of visitors, especially now in spring.

Lectures and children's activities

A highlight for all plant lovers: The first lecture entitled “Smoking with the treasures of the forest” starts on Thursday. Registrations for this are already in full swing and many are interested in the valuable tips and tricks. The next lecture, however, is scheduled for June 26th and deals with “Roses – Queen of Flowers”, starting at 6 p.m.

Anyone who would like to register for the lectures can do so conveniently by calling (0 99 71) 8579 410 or by sending an email to tourist@cham.de. Another nice offer is the Sunday shopping on June 15th, where young and old can take part between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m. The city of Cham provides flowers and pots for the children so that even the youngest ones can develop a green thumb.

A new feature this year are the two wooden loungers, which give the market square an additional quality of stay. Here visitors can relax and enjoy the hustle and bustle. Thanks to the support of numerous local companies and garden centers, it was possible to organize this event, which not only brings joy to adult plant lovers, but also offers children a colorful time.

At a time when interest in having your own garden and growing your own vegetables is growing again, markets like this are particularly important. As Jürgen Metzger, the chairman of the district association of fruit and horticultural clubs, announced, interest in self-cultivation has increased significantly in the region. Events like these not only provide an excellent point of contact, but also promote community in the region.

The beautiful demonstration of nature-related diversity could also be observed at the club fair in the CongressCentrum Pforzheim, where Andrea Pachaly-Szalay gathered numerous visitors. It showed the breadth of the club landscape and opened dialogues for everyone who would like to discover new things. Here too, the great interest in gardening and natural healing methods became apparent, which underlines the desire for further events in the region.
