Terrible accident in Weilheim: Pedelec driver dies, motorcyclists are injured

On Tuesday afternoon, June 24, 2025, a tragic traffic accident between a pedelec and a motorcycle occurred on state road 2057 in Weilheim. In the collision, an 84-year-old pedelec driver was fatally injured and died at the scene of the accident, despite immediate resuscitation. The 24-year-old motorcyclist from Reichling suffered serious injuries and was taken to a hospital with a rescue helicopter.

The Weilheim police inspection immediately started the investigation into the course of the accident. According to initial knowledge, the pedelec driver wanted to overlook the approaching motorcyclist when crossing the state road. The traffic had to be closed for about 3.5 hours, while the Weilheim fire department organized the detour. The incident shaked the entire region.
