Aggressive Waller attacks bathers on Lake Brombach - police alerted!
Brombachsee, Deutschland - An aggressive waller caused excitement on Friday, June 20, 2026, at the Brombachsee in the Weißenburg-Gunzenhausen district. The massive fish, heavy and 90 kilograms, injured at least five bathers with its targeted attacks. The water guard informed the police at around 5:00 p.m. after the first bites were reported within two hours. Rescue workers from the Bavarian Red Cross immediately helped first aid.
In order to ensure the safety of bathers and the visitor of a music festival taking place at the same time, the police immediately blocked the affected bathing area. The threatening Waller, which lurked throughout a swimmindle, was finally shot by a police officer with his service pistol. Supported by two anglers, the caught fish was later recovered from the lake with a boat. Shortly afterwards the bathing area was released for the public.
