Bayreuth rocks: choirs and music shows are thrilling in the city park today!
What is happening in Bayreuth? On Wednesday, June 25, 2025, the city will be the venue for the 4th choir serenade on the Bayreuth city parquet, a highlight for music lovers. From 5:30 p.m., several choirs, including the renowned Zamir Choir, the Swahili Choir and the Ensemble Stimmewerk of the University of Church Music, will present their skills until around 10:00 p.m. Admission to the event is free and a visit is worth it, especially for anyone who wants to get an ear for singing and melodies from a wide variety of genres in a convivial atmosphere. The city parquet is equipped with beer benches and offers space for chairs so that everyone can sit comfortably.
On Saturday and Sunday, June 27th and 28th, the Sparda-Bank Klassik Open Air is on the program, which takes place on the market square and is the next musical event that you shouldn't miss in the city.
A wide range of music and more
The choral serenade is not only characterized by local choirs, but also by a varied musical style. The Bayreuth – Meyernberg 1919 choir, the Souvenir International Choir and many other ensembles, such as the Robert Eller Choir, contribute to the musical diversity. The event is barrier-free and therefore open to anyone interested. Toilets are also barrier-free, both in the art museum and in the central bus stop.
For those who still want more music after the sounds of the choirs, a show by Markus Burucker and band will be performed at the culture kiosk on the lake stage at 7:30 p.m. This mix of seventies, eighties, alternative and indie sounds is available for 18.80 euros and promises an entertaining evening for all generations.
Cultural journey of discovery
Another cultural treat is the photo exhibition “Worlds un/making”, which can be viewed in the Iwalewahaus from June 25th. This exhibition showcases the works of young Nigerian photographers and runs until July 11th. Opening times are Monday to Friday between 10:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m., and entry is free!
There will also be a guitar course in the Bayreuth City Library under the motto “Everyone learns guitar”, which will last from 1:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. You have to bring your own equipment and a donation basis is offered to cover expenses, which makes participation accessible to everyone.
As you can see, there are plenty of offers available to Bayreuth residents and guests on this day. There is something for every taste and the city is once again proving to be a cultural hotspot. [Kurier] reports that this will be a perfect day for music and art lovers. Information about the event can also be found on [Bayreuth Tourismus] and [Bayreuther Tagblatt].
