The ADAC is also keeping an eye on the situation and expects that prices could continue to rise. The reason for this is clear: the military escalation between Israel and Iran has depressed crude oil prices, which has a direct impact on fuel prices. The price of oil for a barrel of North Sea Brent rose to $74.04 on Friday - almost $4.68 more than the day before. At its peak, a price of $78.50 was reached, the highest level since January of this year.
Tips for refueling
In order to counteract the rising costs, the ADAC gives some useful tips for tank visits. You should visit the gas station soon to avoid possible price increases. It could be particularly advantageous to fill up in the evening: prices are often lowest between 7 p.m. and 8 p.m., and they are almost as cheap between 9 p.m. and 10 p.m. On average, you can save around 13 cents per liter if you avoid the morning hours.
