Skilled workers for Bad Kissingen: Training compass shows solutions!
Finding suitable skilled workers is a real challenge for numerous companies in the Bad Kissingen district. Demographic change in particular is adding to the complexity, as baby boomers are now retiring and the gap they leave behind is difficult to fill. There are more than 330 vacancies available, especially for the 2026 training year, that urgently need to be filled. Popular professions include investment mechanics, tax assistants, hotel specialists and medical assistants. In order to counteract this shortage, the acquisition of trainees is of central importance. This is where the training compass comes into play.
The Training Compass is an innovative online platform that supports companies in finding trainees. With over 615 careers that are briefly presented there, it is a valuable source of information for young people looking for their professional future. This platform is not only a regional magazine, but also a real “Training CoPilot” that helps those interested to discover their strengths and find suitable training positions. Applications and CVs can be created and managed directly via the training compass - and all for free!
Support for companies
So that companies can also benefit from this platform, they simply have to register for membership, which involves an annual contribution of 85 euros. However, companies are also allowed to advertise internships or holiday jobs free of charge. The use is well received by the young target group: over 2,000 students visit the Training Compass website every day. This platform also complements successful events such as the Bad Kissingen job fair and the Career Information Day (BIT).
But the challenges on the labor market are diverse. According to the skilled workers monitoring of the Federal Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs (BMAS), the need for skilled workers will be analyzed from 2024 to 2028, identifying bottlenecks and surpluses in various professional groups. This analysis also takes into account factors such as digitalization, climate change and the effects of the Covid-19 pandemic. Due to the decreasing supply of labor force, the situation will become even more tense in the coming years. The number of self-employed people is decreasing, which endangers company succession and worsens the start-up climate.
Key topics and outlook
Particularly in structurally weak regions, such as the Bad Kissingen district, regional differences in demographic change can lead to increased shortages of skilled workers. Increasing the workforce potential is essential to fill the vacancies. The key scenarios examined relate to women, older employees and non-German nationals, who are included in the evaluation.
In summary, the training compass and the associated initiatives are essential to counteract the increasing shortage of skilled workers. Companies are required to actively make efforts to acquire young talent.
