Music festival in Amberg: Luftklangmeile inspires on September 28th!
In Amberg in September 2025 everything revolves around music. On Sunday, September 28th, the 7th Amberg Air Sound Mile will attract many music enthusiasts to the city. The event is organized by the Amberg-Sulzbach district association of the North Bavarian Music Association (NBMB) and Amberg city marketing. The event aims to attract both the citizens of the city and those from the surrounding area and will extend over a fixed route: from the market square through Rathausstrasse and Bahnhofstrasse to the multifunctional square and further through the city moat, over the Nabburger Tor to the Vils.
Music will be played along this route from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. The program includes 14 bands, bands and choirs that have registered. Among the participants are the Big Band of the Upper Palatinate district and the traditional project “Stiftländer Alphornwahnsinn”. A highlight will be the conclusion with a community choir on the market square, where all music lovers can come together. Anyone interested in taking part can register by emailing Werner Stein.
A musical year in Amberg-Sulzbach
The festival is not the only musical highlight in 2025. District Administrator Richard Reisinger has promised a varied year that is all about music. “Kummt’s eina”, the folk music festival, takes place from May 30th to June 1st. The North Bavarian Music Association has put together an exciting annual program that promises numerous concerts and events. The new flyer with all the information was recently presented in the district office.
The celebration of Werner Stein, the district chairman of the NBMB, who is celebrating his 20th anniversary this year, is particularly pleasing. During a presentation, District Administrator Reisinger acknowledged the commitment of the musicians and mentioned the award given to Stein by the Bavarian Prime Minister Dr. Markus Söder. The North Bavarian Music Association, which was founded in 1952, is the largest amateur music association in Bavaria and is home to over 900 member associations with more than 45,000 musicians from various Bavarian regions.
Commitment and promotion of brass music
The main goal of the NBMB is to cultivate brass music and promote amateur music making. A special focus is placed on recruiting young brass musicians. Information material and course offerings are available on the association's homepage in order to inspire and train children and young people about music. The youth organization, the North Bavarian Bläserjugend, is proud of its membership in the Bavarian Youth Ring.
Be there when Amberg turns into a musical mile at the end of September and enjoy the variety of sounds that will ring out in the city's alleys. The Luftklangmeile will certainly be an unforgettable experience for everyone involved!
