Serious accident on the B12 near Haiming: Six injured and total loss!

On November 9, 2025, there was a serious traffic accident on the B12 near Haiming, which resulted in several injuries. There was a collision with a Mitsubishi, whose driver and passenger, both 72 years old, were seriously injured and had to be freed from their vehicle by the fire department.

The 47-year-old driver of the BMW also suffered serious injuries, while two of his passengers escaped with minor to moderate injuries. All injured people were immediately taken to nearby hospitals. The total damage to the vehicles is estimated at around 35,000 euros - both are total losses.

Wide-area closure of the B12

The Traunstein public prosecutor's office has commissioned an expert to clarify the exact circumstances of the accident. As a result, the B12 was closed in both directions for around three and a half hours, causing a significant backlog. Fire departments from Niedergottsau, Marktl, Alzgern, Neuötting and Buch were deployed to carry out the rescue work.

Another incident also occurred on the B12, but on November 7, 2025, at around 2:20 p.m., under slightly different circumstances Passauer Neue Presse reported. This involved a Ford van driven by a 37-year-old driver from Böblingen who was traveling towards Passau with three family members. This driver also crossed into the oncoming lane and collided with a Skoda driven by a 42-year-old from Satu Mare (Romania). The Marktl and Niedergottsau fire departments were also deployed here. Both vehicles were totaled and the B12 had to be completely closed for two hours. A partial closure was then necessary, which led to a slight backlog at the end of the A94 motorway. In this context, the Mühldorf motorway police station is looking for witnesses who can provide information about the incident.
