5000 euros for Aichach and Mering: District administrator strengthens community!
A remarkable handover of donations recently took place in Mering. District Administrator Dr. Klaus Metzger presented an impressive 5,000 euros to the Aichach Community Foundation and the Mering Foundation. This generous support comes from the profit of the Augsburg waste recycling plant (AVA) in the past financial year, which is jointly supported by the city of Augsburg and the districts of Augsburg and Aichach-Friedberg. At the same time, an important contribution to promoting the common good in the region, as lra-aic-fdb.de reports.
The checks were handed over in a ceremonial setting, with Thomas Sixta from the Aichach Community Foundation and Mayor Florian Mayer from the Mering Foundation accepting the donations. “These funds are not just a financial subsidy, but also a confirmation of the important role that foundations play in our society,” explained a visibly pleased District Administrator Metzger. Both foundations are actively committed to strengthening the social community in their regions and thus contribute to improving the quality of life of citizens, which is also emphasized by n-ag.de/deutschland/bayern/aichach-friedberg/5000-euro-spende-landrat-unterstuetzt-buergerstiftungen-in-aichach-und-mering).
The contribution of the waste recycling plant
The Augsburg waste recycling plant (AVA) has established itself as a mainstay in the financial support of non-profit projects. Part of the annual surplus is available to the district administrator to support cultural events and charitable institutions. This shows how important sustainable and responsible waste management is not only for the environment, but also for the social coexistence of communities.
According to estimates, there are 4,522 legal foundations under civil law in Bavaria. The density of foundations, with 34 foundations per 100,000 inhabitants, is also above the German average of 32, as can be read on [stiftungen.org. What is particularly noteworthy is that the vast majority of these foundations play an important role in the areas of social services and education.
Together for the future of the region
The donation will not only help support existing projects, but will also help launch new initiatives. The population can look forward to numerous measures that will strengthen social coexistence. The district administrator himself described the support from the AVA as a sign of community cohesion and an investment in the common future.
With 105 new foundations founded in Bavaria in 2024, the region remains dynamic and inspiring. The Aichach Community Foundation and the Mering Foundation are at the forefront when it comes to further improving the quality of life in their communities and creating civic engagement.
Stay tuned, because the potential for further projects that can be covered by such donations is enormous. In 2024 alone, the foundations in Bavaria will spend around 480 million euros for the common good, which impressively demonstrates the importance and influence of these institutions.
