Luisenburg Festival: Green Electricity and E-charging stations for cultural enjoyment!
Wunsiedel im Fichtelgebirge, Deutschland - Curtain for a sustainable future! The Luisenburg Festival in Wunsiedel is now relating to renewable energies and modern charging infrastructure to make their contribution to climate protection. At the presentation of the new initiatives on June 12, 2025, the first mayor Nicolas Lahovnik, the commercial theater director Matthias Fischer, Managing Director Marco Krasser and the project partners Thomas and Matthias Ködel gave exciting insights into the future -oriented concept. This is not only a profit for the festival itself, but also for the entire region.
The cooperation between SWW Wunsiedel GmbH and Zenob GmbH is supplied with the cultural event with locally generated renewable energies. The new photovoltaic system with an installed output of 243 kWP is used, which generates around 200,000 kWh of electricity annually. This combination of photovoltaics, electricity storage and a well thought-out charging infrastructure is intended to promote the goal of CO₂-neutral mobility and climate-neutral cultural enjoyment. Matthias Fischer emphasizes that this cooperation is economically sensible and electromobility opens up new doors for visitors to Luisenburg.
Sustainable mobility in focus
The new technical equipment speaks a clear language: 12 carports with 72 covered parking spaces not only offer protection for the vehicles, but also opportunities for sustainable energy generation. The charging infrastructure includes a total of 14 AC charging stations with 22 kW and 2 fast loaders that offer an output of up to 200 kW. This innovative system complements harmoniously with a memory that has 200 kW installed output and a capacity of 400 kWh. This not only spares the environment, but also a future -oriented infrastructure for visitors.
The initiative of the Luisenburg Festival is no coincidence, because the federal government has defined climate protection as a central task. According to the Federal Government, at least 80 % of German electricity consumption is to be covered from renewable energies by 2030. In 2023, almost 60 % of electricity in Germany came from renewable sources. The coal phase -out by 2038 at the latest plays a crucial role. The [Climate Protection Program] (https://www.bundes government.de/breg-de/schwerpunkt/klimaschutz-energie-2304638) includes measures in areas such as traffic, energy and industry to achieve sustainable goals.
legal framework conditions
An important legal framework that is promoting the expansion of renewable energies is the Renewable Energie-Energie-Act. Among other things, it states that a certain installation capacity in wind and solar systems can be reached by 2030. Furthermore, network operators are obliged to connect renewable energy systems primarily in order to further advance the use of sustainable energies. These political and legal framework strengths the vision of Luisenburg and are anything but reserved.
Overall, it can be seen that the Luisenburg Festival in Wunsiedel prove a good hand for sustainable projects. The economically well -founded decision to rely on renewable energies and electromobility brings a breath of fresh air for the culture and the region. The path to a sustainable future is promising - and we are excited to see what else is coming!
