Young firefighters enthusiastic: groups of children conquer Traunstein!

The youth fire brigade scene is flourishing in the Traunstein district! More and more children and young people are showing interest in the local children's fire departments. Currently, 16 of a total of 76 volunteer fire departments have already founded their own groups for kids between the ages of 6 and 11. And best of all: more groups are being planned, which will bring a breath of fresh air to the region. How innpuls.me reports, no time is wasted here - the goal is to introduce young fire brigade candidates to the playful use of fire, water and technology and to get them excited about volunteering at an early stage.

What happens in the groups? The activities are colorful and educational at the same time! Once a month the children meet to discuss exciting topics, such as the “Traunfunken” in Traunwalchen, where they learn about the combustion triangle and practical experiments. Vehicle knowledge is on the agenda in Traunreut, while the groups from Hart and Ising experiment with technical equipment such as fans and pumps. The “Löschdinos” team from Trostberg and Heilig Kreuz learns about radio operations with real radio devices. Simulated respiratory protection exercises are on the agenda for team training in Seeon, Seebruck and Truchtlaching. This mix of knowledge and play is what makes it!

Special experiences

A highlight are the excursions that the groups take. The children's fire brigade “Feuersteine” in Stein visited the mountain rescue service in Bergen, while children from Petting paid the police an exciting visit. But healthy cuddles are also provided: In Matzing, an exercise ended in a stupid water fight! And the “extinguishing dragons” from Traunstein prepared for the “Children’s Flame” test: 11 children achieved the “orange” level, 6 the “deep blue” level – a reason to be happy!

With newly founded groups such as “D’Hoizhauser Löschdeifen” and “Feuerkids” in Bergen, the growing interest in this useful leisure activity is evident. The next foundation of a children's fire department in Altenmarkt on November 22nd is already coming up - there is definitely something in the air here!

Insurance protection for our little ones

The accident insurance protection that LFV Bayern and JF Bayern have implemented is essential for the safety of children. So reported lfv-bayern.de that the LFV Bayern has taken out group accident insurance for children in fire brigade clubs since January 1, 2016. It is not necessary to report the children by name, which significantly reduces the organizational effort. The insurance cover is valid worldwide and is also covered for accidents on the way to the activities. Covered events include everything from injuries caused by accidents to health problems caused by tick bites.

The focus is clearly on children not only learning how to be a good firefighter, but also on being active in a safe environment. This combination of fun, community and safety is the recipe for success of the children's fire departments in the Traunstein district.

The increase in interested children and the establishment of new groups is a positive sign for the future of volunteer work. It shows that young people are not only challenged, but also supported. We can't wait to see how the children's fire departments in the region continue to develop!
