Wald fire in the Roth district: Fire brigade stops flames in front of houses!

In the district of Roth, a disturbing forest fire occurred on June 25, 2025, which initially seemed to be out of control. But thanks to the rapid and committed use of the fire brigade, the situation could be quickly brought under control. The flames were dangerously close to the first houses, which led to the evacuation of parts of the place and a facility for assisted living. Die betroffenen Personen wurden in eine Halle im Ort umquartiert, während die Einsatzkräfte unermüdlich daran arbeiteten, die Bedrohung einzudämmen, berichtet Infranken .

The fire broke out near State Road 2239 near Kleinschwarzenlohe and reached up to 8,000 square meters of space. The fire originally started on around 1,000 square meters, but the rapid winds and extreme drought contributed to the rapid spread. Over 400 emergency services, including the fire brigade, disaster protection and the district office, had been mobilized in order to cope with the situation. The mountain rescue service and police helicopter with water containers were also deployed to extinguish from the air, such as north Bavaria reported.

The injured emergency services and the evacuation

The situation was serious: two firefighters suffered injuries - one even had to be taken to the hospital. Fortunately, despite the injuries, there were no further personal injury, which brought the emergency services a certain level of relief. The German Weather Service had already warned against a high risk of forest fire in the region before the fire, which increased the pressure on the fire brigade quickly.

A total of about 60 people from the facility for assisted living in Wendelstein were evacuated. For the time being, they found refuge in a sports hall to Kleinschwarzenlohe. The collaboration of the emergency services was praised by representatives of the municipality and the deputy mayor as exemplary. "The coordination was exemplary," he noted, while the operations management and the waterworks worked hand in hand.

Night of reversal work

Although the fire is now under control, the reversal work continues at full speed. The emergency services should be reduced in the coming hours, but the use, which is reinforced by the persistent danger, will last much longer. A cloud of smoke pulls in the southeast and could affect adjacent communities. Fire brigade and disaster protection are ready to be able to intervene immediately if necessary to protect the population.

The region is now looking forward to the further development and hopes for an early decline in the risk of forest fire. The community effort shows once again how important cohesion and quick action are in crisis situations.
