City of Roth rewards cyclists: Five Roth checks for committed employees!
The city of Roth has once again created real added value for its employees - and in a particularly sustainable way! As part of the “Bicycle to Work” campaign, the city administration encourages its employees to use bicycles to get to work. The campaign is celebrating its 20th round this year, which represents a significant leap towards environmentally friendly mobility. How nn.de reports, Five Roth checks worth 40 euros each will be raffled off among the participants.
competition and health
The conditions for participation are simple and accessible to everyone: Anyone who cycles to work for at least twenty days between May 1st and August 31st will be entered into the draw. The five winners have already been personally honored by Mayor Andreas Buckreus. The aim of the campaign is not only to promote sustainable mobility, but also to promote health in the workplace. Cycling keeps you fit and provides a breath of fresh air in your everyday working life.
This initiative is no coincidence, as cycling has numerous advantages. According to the AOK, participants can enter their cycling kilometers in a personal logbook - a great way to document your own achievements and perhaps even win prizes. AOK.de reports, that the Southern Upper Rhine in particular covered over 647,241 kilometers by bike in 2023, which resulted in an impressive 127,376.6 kilograms of CO2 being saved.
Infrastructure and incentives
But how can you make cycling at work even more attractive? The Climate Platform is also addressing this question. In order to promote cycling effectively, certain basic requirements are necessary. These include safe, covered parking facilities, high-quality connection options and other offers such as showers, changing rooms and e-bike charging options. The city of Roth could be well advised to help its employees with additional incentives such as company bike leasing or mileage allowance. Klima-Platform.de informs, that additional measures such as internal bicycle competitions or information materials can further increase motivation to use bicycles.
A good path for the future
With the raffle of Roth checks and the ongoing support from the AOK, Roth is sending a strong signal for environmentally friendly mobility and the promotion of health in the workplace. It is to be hoped that more companies in the region will follow this example and recognize the benefits of cycling, both for their employees and for the environment. After all, the way to work is not just a journey, but also an opportunity to do something good for your own health and nature.
