100 years of TH Rosenheim: Celebration with politicians and alumni thrilled!
The Technical University (TH) Rosenheim recently celebrated a very special event: its 100th anniversary was honored with a grandiose ceremony last week. Almost 800 guests, including Prime Minister Markus Söder, found their way to the Rosenheim Culture and Congress Center to look back together on the long and successful history of the university and at the same time take a look into the future. How samerbergernachrichten.de reports, the event was a real highlight that brought together students, alumni and representatives from politics and business.
In a lively atmosphere, not only did a journey through time into the history of the university take place, but exciting discussions were also held. Professor Heinrich Köster, President of TH Rosenheim, recalled the origins of the institution, which was founded in 1925 as a private wood technology center. With around 8,000 students at four locations - in Rosenheim, Burghausen, Mühldorf am Inn and Traunstein - the TH is now one of the most important educational institutions in southeast Bavaria, offering practice-oriented courses in various areas such as technology, business, design, health and social affairs. This was also reported by the Material technology.
Anniversary with many honors
In his speech, Prime Minister Söder praised the role of TH Rosenheim in the academic education landscape and the strong interaction between the university, politics and business. He emphasized that the university is not only an important place for training, but also acts as a driver of innovation. Stephanie Jacobs, head of the Ministry of Science, described the TH as the “Bavarian Harvard” and praised its outstanding training in wood technology. This shows once again how popular the institution is.
For her extensive commitment, Professor Köster received the Golden Citizen Medal of the city of Rosenheim during the ceremony. Mayor Andreas März and District Administrator Otto Lederer also highlighted the advantages that the university brings to the city. Gerald Rhein, former student and chairman of the Seeoner Kreis, highlighted the close connection between the university and regional companies, which has contributed to the founding of a number of start-ups.
A look into the future
Another exciting point at the ceremony was the announcement of a new technology park and student center building on the Rosenheim campus. This project is being financed with over 300 million euros from the Bavarian High-Tech Agenda. This is a strong sign of the future-oriented orientation of TH Rosenheim, which remains committed to educating its students in the best possible way and preparing them for the challenges of the future.
The ceremony itself was a celebratory setting in which many former and active students reported on their personal experiences. The importance of the TH Rosenheim as a training facility is undisputed, as the great response to the anniversary impressively demonstrated. As Köster emphasized, it was not just about the past 100 years, but also about the vision for the next decades.
