Regensburg, Deutschland - On July 10, 2025 it starts: The 44th Bavarian Jazzweekend makes Regensburg swing! And the anticipation is really big, because at this festival over 100 bands and combos will enrich the city with its sounds. From 10 to 13 July, visitors can expect around 110 concerts, exciting projects, jazz-in-residence guests, exciting jazz sessions and even a jazz slam. There is something for every jazz lover!

As a true Eldorado for music lovers, the city will be dedicated to jazz in the four days. With 14 venues in Regensburg and five in the district community of Kallmünz, including the Thon-Dittmer-Palais, the castle garden Kallmünz as well as busy places and courtyards, the diversity of the festival is evident. The young talents can also be happy: the young stage on Bismarckplatz is specially reserved for young jazz. Here the musical youngsters are challenged and encouraged, in the spirit of the goal, to bring talented young musicians together with established national and international jazz greats.

What can the festival goers expect? There are gentle melodies in idyllic courtyards and pulsating sessions in cozy clubs and bars. Jazz sounds that sound from the ship or on the banks of the Danube provide the special flair. And if you want, you can also look forward to the thrilling salsa rhythms of the Orquesta Wawancó or indulge in the Dixieland sound of the Paula Jackman’s Jazz Masters. A real festival for the ears!

The start will take place on Thursday, July 10th, at 5:30 p.m. in the Regensburg business park. There is a colorful program with international groups, including Tobias Meinhart Quintet & Júlia Karosi, which stands for an exciting mix of New York, Sydney, Budapest and Berlin. The festival will be opened on Friday, July 11th, at 6 p.m., and this with a special highlight: the appearance of the State Youth Jazz Orchestra Bavaria at Bismarckplatz.

The festival is supplemented by delicious offers at food and drink stands at the open-air stages, which are open until 11:45 p.m. (Sundays until 10:45 p.m.). The musical performances take place on every day until 10 p.m. So that everything works smoothly, Bismarckplatz is closed from 6 p.m. to 11 p.m., as is Haidplatz. The organized rental bikes ensure a sustainable arrival. With a special voucher code "Jazzr25", interested parties can ride an hour free of charge. And for those who already have an outlook on the future: The 45th Bavarian Jazzweekend will take place from July 2 to 5, 2026. Musicians can apply for this from August 1 to October 15, 2025.
