Unforgettable football games and social help in Dorfbach!
Next Sunday the time has come: several exciting football games are on the program at the DJK-SV Dorfbach sports facility. The kick-off takes place at 1 p.m. with the encounter between the Dorfbach “seconds” against TSV Karpfham II. The fans can look forward to a sporting highlight, because at 3 p.m. the district league promoted team DJK-SV Dorfbach will meet 1. FC Passau (state league) in a thrilling match. The finale will be a very special memorial game at 5 p.m. in honor of the late goalkeeper Andreas Fischer. “Andi’s friends” compete against the “Urlberger Buam”. It promises to be a memorable event that will not only attract football enthusiasts - the entire population is warmly invited to take part.
This event not only celebrates sport, but also focuses on a good cause. The “Urlberger Buam” donate their fees of 500 euros to social causes. The proceeds from admission and kiosk sales as well as other donations benefit the Mittermeier family. This is particularly affected because the two twin sisters Laura and Leonie suffer from microdeletion syndrome 6Q12, are dependent on a wheelchair and need support.
Unexpected successes of the youth teams
The news that the B and A juniors of DJK-SV Dorfbach have won the championship title in their groups and are therefore promoted to the next higher league is particularly pleasing! Both teams, which were formed without the support of a youth support group or game group, prevailed with a lot of commitment and team spirit. The B juniors were undefeated in their group, achieved three draws in 16 league games and were able to convince with a goal difference of 73:11. Lukas Fugmann particularly stood out with 20 goals, while Johannes Maier delivered a top performance with 57 out of 58 training sessions. Coaches Uli Niedermeyer and Josef Eichlseder can be proud of their protégés.
The A-Juniors celebrated their championship title on the third-to-last matchday, as second-placed FC Salzweg could not score points. With a lead of five points and a goal difference of 55:22, promotion was certain. Six players have to make the transition to the senior level due to their age, while the coaching trio Klaus Griebl, Gerhard Niederfeilner and Michael Plettl are well prepared for the further challenges. To celebrate the successes, a final trip is planned, which not only serves as a finale for the players, but also as preparation for the district league.
Sport as a bridge to integration
The importance of football extends beyond the field. Sports clubs like the DJK-SV Dorfbach are increasingly acting as important platforms for integration. As reports from various experts show, sport plays an essential role in the social integration of people with a migration background. The association's commitment, both in the youth sector and in social projects, underlines its role model function in the region. At a time when solidarity is more important than ever, such events offer an excellent opportunity to build community and overcome barriers. Like that Federal Center for Civic Education explains, sport creates connections and promotes intercultural exchange. This is also evident during events such as the memorial game on Sunday.
So there are many reasons to come to the DJK-SV Dorfbach sports facility on Sunday and be part of a great community. Be there, support the great teams and help the Mittermeier family! It will be a day full of football and solidarity!
