New sidewalk in Hennebergerstrasse: Security for Passau citizens!
In Passau there is reason to be happy: The city recently completed a new sidewalk in Hennebergerstrasse in the Heining district. This footpath, which is around 30 meters long and approximately 1.50 meters wide, establishes a valuable connection between the Goldberg and Neustifter Straße. Particularly noteworthy is the access to the centrally located bus stop in the newly developed area, which was previously only accessible from the Goldberg. This significantly improves the accessibility for all pedestrians and increases security.
The work was carried out by the municipal building yard and, in addition to the extraction, also included the setting of groin stones and angular support walls. In addition, the foundations for privacy screen were created. The installation and cover layer is now completed, so that the sidewalk can be used immediately. For around 17,500 euros, the city of Passau has implemented this measure, which is based on suggestions from the citizens to make the footpath to the bus stop safer. In addition, a gabion wall along the adjacent property is planned and a crossing aid in the lower Hennebergerstrasse is also to be built. Similar measures have already been implemented, such as the sidewalk from Walter-Hornsteiner-Straße to the Rittsteiger Straße bus stop, which has mainly designed the way to school.
New sidewalk to the Donauhof bus stop
But that's not all that happens in the city of Passau. The sidewalk to the Donauhof bus stop, which leads into the city, was recently completed. This approximately 60 meter long and 1.20 meter wide sidewalk extends from the exit of the Donauhof workshops to the stop. The construction work that was completed within a week included cutting the asphalt connection, excavation and asphalting. The total cost of this project is around 43,000 euros.
The initiative for this sidewalk came from the Donauhof workshops, an important facility for people with disabilities in the region. This facility ensures that many of your employees rely on local public transport. The new sidewalk thus helps to promote the mobility and safety of these people, especially in view of the increased traffic volume in the area.
Passau is therefore not only a city with a sense of community, but also as one that responds to the needs of its citizens. It is to be hoped that the city will continue to have a good hand and quickly implement such important projects.
