Dynamo Dresden disappointed: defeat against Nuremberg earns whistles!

On November 7th, 2025, SG Dynamo Dresden had an important home game against FC Nürnberg on the program. Under the watchful eyes of the fans, who came up with impressive choreography, things got down to business straight after kick-off. But after just 15 seconds, Rafael Lubach shocked the stadium visitors when he scored the first goal after a pass from Artem Stepanov and made the game 0-1 [MDR].

In the following minutes, smoke could occasionally be seen from the K-Block in the stadium, which led to a brief interruption of the game. However, the game got off to a very slow start. Dynamo's offensive play seemed uninspired, which led to whistles and displeasure from the spectators. One of the few highlights of the first half was an overhead kick by Mohamed Zoma, which Nuremberg's Lennart Grill parried (31st minute). Hope arose when Dominik Kother equalized the score at 1-1 with a low shot in stoppage time in the first half - after all, this was FCN keeper Jan Reichert's first shot on goal.

Turn of the game

The second half started completely differently: Nuremberg, cheered on by the fans who had traveled with them, found it visibly easier to get into the game. Tim Janisch made it 2-1 for the guests in the 58th minute. Dynamo, on the other hand, continued to struggle and could not develop the offensive necessary to seriously endanger Nuremberg's defense. Nils Fröling wasted a counterattack by the guests when he missed a good opportunity (71st minute). Konrad Faber provided the last chance for the Dynamo kickers, but he was denied by the Nuremberg goalkeeper.

The whistles from the worried home fans were a clear sign - the situation for Dynamo and coach Thomas Stamm remains tense. The team is challenged: The next games are scheduled for two weeks in Bochum and against Fortuna Düsseldorf. Will the team have a good knack for turning things around?
