Schools honored in the Upper Palatinate: 14,000 euros for addiction prevention!

In the Upper Palatinate, a new competition for fresh wind has ensured that addiction prevention. The competition "Strategies of good addiction prevention at school" has inspired schools in the region to develop creative and effective concepts for addiction prevention. A total of 19 schools from Weiden and the district of Neustadt an der Waldnaab participated and presented their projects. The award ceremony took place in the impressive castle chapel of the district office, where district administrator Andreas Meier and third mayor Reinhold Wildenauer signed the successful schools. For the best concepts, there were prize money from the Sieglinde Nothacker Foundation for a total of 14,000 euros, with 4,300 euros being awarded for the thirteen award-winning projects, as the city of Neustadt reports.

The first prizes of 1,200 euros each went to the European vocational school in Weiden, the vocational school center Neustadt an der Waldnaab and the Lobkowitz Realschule. The Stötzner School in Weiden received the second prize worth 700 euros. The projects of these schools were at the center of the award ceremony and could be examined in more detail at a standing reception.
