The aim of this important day is to give citizens the opportunity to check their memory performance free of charge and without obligation. The screening is part of the Digidem Bavaria project, which is funded by the Bavarian State Ministry of Health, Care and Prevention. This interdisciplinary research project aims to improve the life situation of people with dementia and their relatives. Digidem Bavaria currently has over 2,600 participants and is therefore the largest dementia register in Germany.

The dementia screening days take place in cooperation with various local actors in all seven regional districts of Bavaria. In addition to the Neustädter screening day, appointments are also scheduled in other cities, such as in Schweinfurt and Kemnath. The next events of this kind will be in the city of Schweinfurt and Straubing on June 27, 2025, and on July 14, 2025, tests will be made in Kemnath.
